David Makin has been a professional Barista for more than 10 years. After owning and operating several of his own cafes he began work within the coffee roasting industry. Working with award winning coffee roaster Veneziano Caffe, David has won his State Barista Championships five years in a row and is the current Australian Barista of the Year. He recently placed 2nd at the World Barista Championships in Copenhagen up against national champions from over 50 countries.

The Grinder is an integral part in the production of a quality coffee. This course allows you to disassemble a coffee grinder so as to better understand how it affects the perfect espresso shot. Latte Art (occurs every second Wednesday)

Turn milk into silk then learn how to paint the perfect pattern to finish the ultimate espresso experience. Learn how to free pour a Rosetta or Heart and understand how to etch some more complicated patterns like the flower or snail shell. This course will help define your coffees presentation and improve your overall milk texturing skills.

Advanced Barista Training

This course looks at how to improve your skills and become a Barista that sets themselves apart fro the competition. Covering how to manually dose and tamp, other factors affecting espresso coffee, advanced milk and texturing and keeping up in a busy cafe environment.
